This refers to the "denominator" of a fraction. By definition, the denominator tells you how many you need to have of an equal part in order to create a whole. The numerator tells you how much of those equal parts you have.

SSSSS [86.1K]

Answer:

31136

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the how much an number increased by a percent. Divide the percent by 100. 23/100=0.23.

Then multiply 0.23 by the original number which is 25,314. Which gives us about 5822.

Then since it INCREASED, we are going to add that number it increased to the original. 25314+5822= 31136.

Let the abbreviation PSLT stand for the percent of the gross family income that goes into paying state and local taxes. Suppose
gavmur [86]

Answer:

Number of families that should be surveyed if one wants to be 90% sure of being able to estimate the true mean PSLT within 0.5 is at least 43.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that one wants to estimate the mean PSLT for the population of all families in New York City with gross incomes in the range $35.000 to $40.000.

If sigma equals 2.0, we have to find that how many families should be surveyed if one wants to be 90% sure of being able to estimate the true mean PSLT within 0.5.

Here, we will use the concept of Margin of error as the statement "true mean PSLT within 0.5" represents the margin of error we want.

<u></u>

<u>SO, Margin of error formula is given by;</u>

       Margin of error =  Z_(_\frac{\alpha}{2}_ ) \times \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} }

where, \alpha = significance level = 10%

            \sigma = standard deviation = 2.0

            n = number of families

Now, in the z table the critical value of x at 5% ( \frac{0.10}{2} = 0.05 ) level of significance is 1.645.

SO,        Margin of error =  Z_(_\frac{\alpha}{2}_ ) \times \frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} }

                          0.5   =  1.645 \times \frac{2}{\sqrt{n} }

                         \sqrt{n} =\frac{2\times 1.645 }{0.5}

                         \sqrt{n} =6.58

                           n  =  6.58^{2}

                               = 43.3 ≈ 43

Therefore, number of families that should be surveyed if one wants to be 90% sure of being able to estimate the true mean PSLT within 0.5 is at least 43.

Nezavi [6.7K]
First I am going to assume that these are both right triangles based off of look and because it is much easier. Without it you have to use law of sines or law of cosines...
So to find x you must first find y which can be done simply by using the pythagorean theorem. This theorem is defined as the sum of the squared legs is equal to the sum of the hypotenuse or x^2 + y^2 = z^2

If we substitute in the known values 16^2 + y^2 = 20^2 and solve for y we get that y = sqrt(20^2 - 16^2), this then simplifies to y = 12

Finding x is much more annoying, the easiest way I can immediately see is to find the upper angles by doing sin(16/20) and then 90 - sin(16/20) since the complementary angle is the one you want. I don't have a calculator or a trig table with me right now but I will tell you that x will be equal to 12 ÷ the inverse cosine of the angle (90degrees - sin(16/20)).

I am pretty sure the answer is D though because we know for sure y = 12 and x has to be greater than y because the hypotenuse must be larger than both legs. It could be E but you won't know unless you do the math for x. So it is either D or E but I would be surprised if a Professor made you do all of the work just to say it doesn't work...

Question 1. 7:11
Question 2. 27 units of K

How to solve the questions-
1. 14/22 divide the numerator and the denominator by 2. This would give you 7/11

2. If the ratio is 12/9 and the amount of N is 36, you’re basically multiplying 12 *3, so then you have to multiply 9 *3=27.

Work out (4 x 3)² ÷ 6
blondinia [14]

An expression is defined as a set of numbers, variables, and mathematical operations. The solution of (4 x 3)² ÷ 6 is 24.

<h3>What is an Expression?</h3>

In mathematics, an expression is defined as a set of numbers, variables, and mathematical operations formed according to rules dependent on the context.

The solution of the expression (4 x 3)² ÷ 6 is,

(4 x 3)² ÷ 6

= (12)² ÷ 6

= 144 ÷ 6

= 24

Hence, the solution of (4 x 3)² ÷ 6 is 24.
