You need to set it up as a fraction and make the fractions equal each other.
2/3 (2 of their books for 3 of yours)
x/18 (x amount of their books for 18 of yours)
(2/3)=(x/18)
multiply both sides by 18
and you get
36/3 which reduces to 12

so your answer is 12

Answer:

the third option

Step-by-step explanation:

the 5 pounds weight at birth is the starting value.

so, the function needs to have a constant part of at least +5.

and every month 0.5 pounds are added.

that is exactly the situating to use multiplication : weight gain per month times the number of months (plus the starting value of 5 pounds) delivers the weight after a certain number of months.

w = weight after t months

t = number of months measured

Answer: The answer is the second one or B

Step-by-step explanation:

Its actually really easy, you have to look at the bar that goes 0-3 and see if it goes up to 5. Then you go to the bar 4-7 and see if it goes to 8. You just keep on continuing and if it you do for example, 8-11 on one and it doesnt go to 10, it means its not correct

Answer:

1/36

Step-by-step explanation:

When you roll a die the possible outcomes are 1,2,3,4,5,6

P(1) = number of outcomes that are 1 / total outcomes

       =1/6

The events are independent so we can multiply the probabilities

P(1,1) = 1/6*1/6 = 1/36

Evaluate the function f(r) = √r + 1 - 1 at the given values of the independent variable and simplify.
neonofarm [45]

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm going to assume you meant to write \sqrt{r+1} in the equation as +1 - 1 wouldn't make much sense since they would just cancel out.

a. f(-1) = \sqrt{-1 + 1} - 1\\ f(-1) = \sqrt{0} - 1\\f(-1) = 0-1\\f(-1) = -1

b. f(24) = \sqrt{24 + 1} - 1\\ f(24) = \sqrt{25} - 1\\f(24) = 5 - 1\\f(24) = 4

c. f(x-1) = \sqrt{(x-1)+1} -1\\f(x-1) = \sqrt{x} - 1
