If you roll three 4-sided dice, how many possible outcomes are there?

Mathematics

For each outcome on the first die, there are 4 outcomes on the second die, so two dice will have 4×4 = 16 outcomes. For each of those, there will be 4 outcomes on the third die, so the total number of outcomes is

... 4×4×4 = 4³ = 64

a flagpole cast a shadow 10 ft long. a girlstanding next to the flagpole cast a shadow 2.5 ft long. if the girl is 5 ft tall, ho
anygoal [31]
So in order to do this we have to take 10 ft and 2.5 ft and multiply it. We can simplify this down to 4 and 1. We can remove the 1 and we are left with 4. Multiply the height of the girl by 4 and we get 20. Therefore the flagpole is 20 ft tall.

WILL GIVE BRAINLIST AS SOON AS I CAN someone please help me solve this, i cant remember how to do it.
xeze [42]

Answer:

x = 8.0

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the triangle is right use the cosine ratio to solve for x

cos37° = \frac{adjacent}{hypotenuse} = \frac{x}{10}

Cross- multiply

x = 10 × cos37° ≈ 8.0 ( to the nearest tenth )

52% of all Americans are home owners. If 45 Americans are randomly selected, find the probability that a. Exactly 21 of them are
Nataly [62]

Answer:

0.0918 ; 0.6277 ; 0.6064; 0.5055

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that :

Proportion of home owners : p = 0.52

Number of trials = 45

Using binomial distribution formula :

P(x =x) = nCr * p^x * (1 - p)^(n-x)

A.) probability that exactly 21 are homeowners :

P(x = 21) = 45C21 * 0.52^21 * (1 - 0.52)^(45 - 21)

P(x = 21) = 45C21 * 0.52^21 * 0.48^24

P(x = 21) = 3773655750150 * 0.52^21 * 0.48^24

P(x = 21) = 0.0918

b. At most 24 of them are are home

Using the binomial probability to save computation time.

P(x ≤ 24) = p(0) + p(1) +.... + p(24)

P(x ≤ 24) = 0.6277

C.) At least 23 of them are home owners.

P(x ≥ 23) = p(23) + p(24) +... + p(45)

P(x ≥ 23) = 0.6064

d. Between 20 and 24 (including 20 and 24) of them are home owners.

P(20 ≤ x ≤ 24) = p(20) + p(21) + p(22) + p(23) + p(24)

P(20 ≤ x ≤ 24) = 0.0711 + 0.0918 + 0.1084 + 0.1175 + 0.1167

P(20 ≤ x ≤ 24) = 0.5055

Topic:Ratio & Proprtion
Buck drove 220 miles in 5 hours what was his average rate of speed
snow_lady [41]
You would use the distance formula

d = rt

Scine you need to find the rate you will use r = d/t

r = 220/5

r = 44

The leftmost line segment has a domain of -4 ≤ x < -1, or [-4, 1).

The central line segment has a domain of -1 ≤ x ≤ 2, or [-1, 2].

The rightmost line segment has a domain of 2 < x ≤ 5, or (2, 5].

Overall, this function has a domain of

[-4, 1) U [-1, 2] U (2, 5]

(where U means "union" in the set-theoretic notion)

But this also simplifies to the interval [-4, 5].

These correspond to the first and last choices.
