Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) may be defined as the glucose intolerance at the first recognition of the pregnancy. This occur due to the abnormal secretion of the hormone insulin.

The woman has been diagnosed with GDM. Her health provider will guide her and explains her that this condition might result in the very low or high blood pressure in her baby. If the GDM problem is not maintained properly this directly affect the glucose level of her child after birth.
