The answer is 19

work :

1-multiply the numbers by a submultiple of 10 to remove the decimal points.
17.1 \times 10 = 171 \\ \\ 0.9 \times 10 = 9

2-

now do the division :
171 \div 9 = 19

so the answer is 19

note: there is no need to get it back to decimal number unless you multiply just one of the numbers or multiply the numbers with different submultiples of 10

good luck

First you can multiply both numbers by 10 to remove the decimals

Then you just divide 171 by 9
=19

How does the volume of a cylinder change if the radius is quadrupled and the height is reduced to a third of its original size?
vredina [299]
Oh yay, proportional thinking! (Vicious sarcasm). Alright, let's do this:

<span>Volume of the cylinder = </span><span>π(h)r^2
New volume = </span><span>π(h/3)(4r)^2
= (1/3)</span><span>π(h)(16r^2)
=16*(1/3)</span><span>π(h)r^2
=(16/3)</span><span>π(h)r^2

Therefore, it's D. Though it's spelled pi, and you should really use the ^ symbol. </span>

The Spanish club decides to sell school pins $1.50 each and T-shirts at $6.50 each for a fundraiser. They projects that they wil
Firdavs [7]
Ok so 1.5 is pins and 6.5 is t shirts so you multiply 1.5 x 20 and 6.5 x 5 so for pins= $30 and T-shirts= $32.50 and you times both those numbers by 3 so for pins you get $90 and T-shirts you get $97.50. Finally you add them and get $187.5 so the answer is $187.5 for the project.

Emily can arrange 20 vases of flowers in 6 hours. Find Emily's rate per hour for arranging
Sergio [31]

Answer:

3 \frac{1}{3} vases per hour

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the unit rate, solve the total amount of vases that Emily arranged divided by the amount of time that Emily took to arrange the vases.

Or, in other words, solve 20 ÷ 6, since Emily arranged 20 vases and it took her 6 hours to complete it.

You can do this by hand or you can do it on a calculator.

After you solved it, you should get 3 \frac{1}{3}, or 3.33333...

So, Emily's rate is 3 \frac{1}{3} vases per hour.
