Answer:

Given:

Scale factor of −4, also the center of dilation is (0,0).

Dilation defined as it is being or become larger or smaller.

if we dilate a given diagram,  it become smaller of larger of the original image by multiplying by given scale factor i.e -4.

The  coordinate of original images are (1,2), (1,-2) and (-2 ,-2)

The mapping rule for the dilation applied to the triangle below is (x, y) → ( kx, ky) where k is the scale factor i.e, k =-4.

As we need to multiply each and every coordinate by -4 to get new coordinates of the dilated image.

Dilation images are

(1,2) \rightarrow (-4 ,-8)

(1,-2) \rightarrow (-4 ,8)

(-2,-2) \rightarrow (8 , 8)

As you can see in the graph below:

Determine if the figures are similar. If they are, what is the scale factor from the first figure to the second figure?
lora16 [44]

Answer:

The scale factor is \frac{3}{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Yes the figures are similar to each other. The ratio of their linear measurements is in uniform ration

The ration of radius of large cylinder (R) to that of the smaller cylinder (r) is

\frac{18}{12} \\\frac{3}{2}

Like wise the ration of height of large cylinder (H) to that of the smaller cylinder (h) is

\frac{30}{20} \\\frac{3}{2}

The scale factor is \frac{3}{2}

Why is isolating the y-variable to graph is important
dusya [7]

Answer:

It is the easiest way to graph an equation.

Step-by-step explanation:

Isolating the y variable is also slope-intercept form.

Slope intercept form is the easiest form to use when graphing.

y = mx + b

m is the slope, b is the y-intercept.

it makes it way easier to graph an equation when it is in slope intercept form.

I hope that helps! =)

Scores on the SAT Mathematics test are believed to be normally distributed. The scores of a simple random sample of five student
AysviL [449]

Answer:

The mean calculated for this case is \bar X=584

And the 95% confidence interval is given by:

584-2.776\frac{86.776}{\sqrt{5}}=476.271

584+2.776\frac{86.776}{\sqrt{5}}=691.729

So on this case the 95% confidence interval would be given by (476.271;691.729)

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

A confidence interval is "a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence. It is often expressed a % whereby a population means lies between an upper and lower interval".

The margin of error is the range of values below and above the sample statistic in a confidence interval.

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

\bar X represent the sample mean for the sample

\mu population mean (variable of interest)

s represent the sample standard deviation

n represent the sample size

Solution to the problem

The confidence interval for the mean is given by the following formula:

\bar X \pm t_{\alpha/2}\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}   (1)

In order to calculate the mean and the sample deviation we can use the following formulas:

\bar X= \sum_{i=1}^n \frac{x_i}{n} (2)

s=\sqrt{\frac{\sum_{i=1}^n (x_i-\bar X)}{n-1}} (3)

The mean calculated for this case is \bar X=584

The sample deviation calculated s=86.776

In order to calculate the critical value t_{\alpha/2} we need to find first the degrees of freedom, given by:

df=n-1=5-1=4

Since the Confidence is 0.95 or 95%, the value of \alpha=0.05 and \alpha/2 =0.025, and we can use excel, a calculator or a tabel to find the critical value. The excel command would be: "=-T.INV(0.025,4)".And we see that t_{\alpha/2}=2.776

Now we have everything in order to replace into formula (1):

584-2.776\frac{86.776}{\sqrt{5}}=476.271

584+2.776\frac{86.776}{\sqrt{5}}=691.729

So on this case the 95% confidence interval would be given by (476.271;691.729)

Debra start a babysitting business. She purchased toys, snacks, and other supplies. She charged an hourly rate for each child. T
Ghella [55]

Answer:

A. 6y

Step-by-step explanation:

The profit formula is: total earnings- total expenses. In this case the 145 has a minus sign, which indicates that these are Debra's total expenses. Then, 6y represents total revenue. You can also identify that this is the answer because revenues depend on babysitting hours, which in this case, is represented by the variable "y".
