Solve the initial-value problem<br><br> y' = x^4 - \frac{1}{x}y, y(1) = 1.
natta225 [31]

The ODE is linear:

y'=x^4-\dfrac yx

y'+\dfrac yx=x^4

Multiplying both sides by x gives

xy'+y=x^5

Notice that the left side can be condensed as the derivative of a product:

(xy)'=x^5

Integrating both sides with respect to x yields

xy=\dfrac{x^6}6+C

\implies y(x)=\dfrac{x^5}6+\dfrac Cx

Since y(1)=1,

1=\dfrac16+C\implies C=\dfrac56

so that

\boxed{y(x)=\dfrac{x^5}6+\dfrac5{6x}}

2. For the graph, find AB to the nearest tenth<br> y<br> 8<br> А<br> 6<br> B
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

10.8

Step-by-step explanation:

AB can be calculated using the formula d = \sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2}

The coordinates of A are when x = -2, y = -2

At B, x = 8, y = -6

Let,

A(-2, -2) = (x_1, y_1)

B(8, -6) = (x_2, y_2)

Plug the values into the formula.

AB = \sqrt{(8 - (-2))^2 + (-6 -(-2))^2}

AB = \sqrt{(8 + 2)^2 + (-6 + 2)^2}

AB = \sqrt{(10)^2 + (-4)^2}

AB = \sqrt{100 + 16}

AB = \sqrt{116} = 10.8 nearest tenth

Please help!!! I’ll mark you as brainliest!!!
Sedaia [141]
Ok I’ll break this down so it’s easier to understand:

So you start of with $80

The first step is to find 20% off

An easy way to find 20% is to divide it by 5.

80/5= 16

And since it’s 20% OFF we subtract 16 from 80

80-16= 64

Next we need to do the coupon

It is $5 off so

64-5= 59

And finally the rebate which is $2

59-2= 57

Answer:
57
