The square has equal sides measuring 52 inches, since the circle inside the square touched the side of the square, that makes the diameter of the circle to have an exact size with the side of the square which is 52 inches. To find out the area or square inches of cloth that was cut from the square, is to find out the area of the circle itself. Using the formula in getting the area of a circle, which is pi multiplied by the radius squared. Represent pi with 3.14 rounded up to the tenths place and multiply it with the radius that would be the half of the diameter of the circle which is 52, you'll get 26 and multiply 26 by 26, you'll have the answer of 2,122.64 square inches.

Subtract the Area of the circle, from the square.

Area of Square = 36 inches x 36 in = 1296 in²

Area of Circle = πr², in which r = 36/2 = 18

π(18)² = 324(3.14) = 1017.36 in²

The area of circle is the answer: 1017.36 in²

hope this helps

Answer: x=4

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that line segment AC= AB + BC

we also know that AB= 3x+8 and BC= 2x-5

by substituting these, we get AC= (3x+8)+(2x-5)

AC is given as being 23, so we know that

23= (3x+8)+(2x-5)

by combining like terms, we get that

5x+3=23

simplify this to get that x=4

Fifteen 2 inch nails weigh 35 grams. How many of these nails weigh 175 grams? Can you explain how to do this please thankyou so
polet [3.4K]
Solving:

1) Pass: Make the rule three (Directly proportional)

Two inch nails ______ grams (<span>Weight)
</span>15 ----------------------------35
n ----------------------------- 175

2) Pass: <span>Multiply cross
</span>
35*n = 15*175

3) Pass: Simplify
35*n = 15*175
35n = 2625
n =  \frac{2625}{35}
\boxed{n = 75}

Answer:
75 nails weigh 175 grams
