The answer is 14 centimeters.

The midsegment of a trapezoid has length equal to the average of the two base lengths. Since the base lengths of this trapezoid are 11 and 17 centimeters, our midsegment has length (11+17)/2 = 14 centimeters.

Solution :

Given that , the base lengths of a trapezoid are 11 cm and 17 cm.

The base of a trapezoid means the two parallel sides of the trapezoid.

A trapezoid midsegment connects the mid point of the congruent sides of the trapezoid and is parallel to the base .

The length of the midsegment is the sum of the length of two bases divided by two.

length of trapezoid midsegment = \frac{Sum\:of\:bases}{2}=\frac{17+11}{2}=14

Hence, The length of midsegment of trapezoid is 14.

write a word problem in which you multiply a fraction by a number greater than 1. Estimate the product then compare the product
tangare [24]
Answer:

Word problem: A recipe for making cookies use half cup of sugar for 1 cup of flour to make one pound of cookies. How many cups of sugar you need to make 3 pound of cookies.

As you can see to solve that problem you need to multiply the fraction 1/2, which is the number of cups needed to make 1 pound of cookies, times the number of pounds that you want to make.

So, for this problem you have to multiply 1/2 times 3.

My estimate is that the result is 1.5.

You can verify my estimate by multiplying:

        1        3x1       3
3 x ----- =  ------ = ------ = 1.5
        2.       1x2       2

So, I have shown that my estimate was correct.

Passes through (2,2), slope = 3
nikdorinn [45]

Answer:

y - 2 = 3(x - 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

Please consider using the point-slope formula for the equation of a straight line, because in this case it's the easiest way to go.

(2,2) is one point on the line, and the slope is m = -3.

Thus, y - k = m(x - h) becomes y - 2 = 3(x - 2).

laiz [17]

Answer:

x + y < 20

5x + 10y ≥ 100

Step-by-step explanation:

The ski club wants at least $100

Student pays $5

Chaperone pays $10

Maximum number of seats = 20

Assumption:

Assumed number of students = x

Assumed number of chaperone = y

Equation:

Maximum number of seats = 20

⇒ x + y < 20

The club wants $100

⇒ 5x + 10y ≥ 100
