According to experts, habituation occurs in the body. It is when there is a reduced physical response to a stimulus after one has been exposed to it repeatedly.

Sensory deprivation, on the other hand, occurs in the brain. This is when ones senses no longer have the same response to stimuli that is continuous or unchanging.
