The Pituitary gland is the master gland because it goes hand-in-hand with the hormones for menstruation, sex, growth, prolactin (breast milk), corticotropin (stimulates the adrenal gland), and the thyrotropin (thyroid gland). The Pituitary gland also regulates water balance on the kidneys and bladder.
