Which system helps to prevent microscopic infection and also regulates body temperature?
Naya [18.7K]
The body's immune system helps prevent microscopic infection and regulates the body's temperature. The immune system is a collection of organs, cells, and tissues that all work together to maintain the body's resistance to diseases. Given that the freezing point depression constant for water is 1.86°c kg/mol, calculate the change in freezing point for a 0.907
melamori03 [73]

Answer : The correct answer for change in freezing point = 1.69 ° C

Freezing point depression :

It is defined as depression in freezing point of solvent when volatile or non volatile solute is added .

SO when any solute is added freezing point of solution is less than freezing point of pure solvent . This depression in freezing point is directly proportional to molal concentration of solute .

It can be expressed as :

ΔTf = Freezing point of pure solvent - freezing point of solution = i* kf * m

Where : ΔTf = change in freezing point (°C)

i = Von't Hoff factor

kf =molal freezing point depression constant of solvent.\frac{^0 C}{m}

m = molality of solute (m or \frac{mol}{Kg} )

Given : kf = 1.86 \frac{^0 C*Kg}{mol}

m = 0.907 \frac{mol}{Kg} )

Von't Hoff factor for non volatile solute is always = 1 .Since the sugar is non volatile solute , so i = 1

Plugging value in expression :

ΔTf = 1* 1.86 \frac{^0 C*Kg}{mol} * 0.907\frac{mol}{Kg} )

ΔTf = 1.69 ° C

Hence change in freezing point = 1.69 °C

How many major reservoirs does carbon move between?<br> A. 3<br> B. 4<br> C. 5<br> D. 2
Irina-Kira [14]
<span>Carbon can also bond with other four atoms because of its outer shell (valence shell) that has four electrons. This is the reason why organic molecules can be so large because of this bonding. Suppose you have a compound of CCl4. You know that chlorine can only share 1 electron because 7 of its electrons are filled. Also, in carbon, it can only share 4 electrons because 4 of it are already filled. That is why carbon needs four chlorine to form CCl4. The answer is letter <u>B.</u></span>

How much water should be added to 85 mL of 0.45 M HCI to reduce the concentration to 0.20 M?
valkas [14]

Answer:

106.25 mL

Explanation:

For this, we can use

C1×V1=C2×V2

C1 = 0.45

V1 = 85

C2= 0.20

V2= ?

0.45 × 85 = 0.20 × V2

V2= (0.45 × 85)/0.20

V2=191.25mL

To find the amount of water added, subtract V1 from V2

191.25 - 85 =106.25mL
