Find the equation of the line that passes through the points 2,5 and -8,4
n200080 [17]

Answer:

y = 1/10 x  + 24/5

or in standard form this is

-x + 10y = 48.

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope of the line is (5-4)/(2--8)

= 1/10

Using the point slope form y - y1 = m(x - x1):

USING THE POINT (2, 5):

y - 5 = 1/10(x - 2)

y - 5 = 1/10 x - 1/5

y = 1/10 x  + 24/5
