The most important part of weight training is an increase in bone density making bone less brittle so this is especially important for the aged to do some weight training. Also of course it will increase muscle mass and make one stronger in the arms and legs if both areas are conditioned with weights. I beg to differ with this opinion as all my musclemen weight lifters have always told me that weight training also increases bone density.
