In a closed primary, who selects a political party’s nominees for office?
never [62]

In a closed primary, the members of the party select the nominees. This means that the registered members of the Republican Party and the members of the Democrat Party are the ones who can select the nominees to participate as a candidate for office.

This is so because the Party promotes the free association and it is believed that the members of a Party know its possible nominees and have the right to decide whom to choose for.
