The shape of the graph is very similar to a natural logarithm, which is ln(x). ln(x) has an asymptote at x=0. Shift the graph 3 units to the left and you have the graph of ln(x+3), which has an asymptote at x= -3. Also, when x=0, ln(x+3) is about 1. I think ln(x+3) is the answer. Check this online graph to see if this matches:

Answer:

15/56

Step-by-step explanation:

5 people have a license

3 people don't

? = Probability that first person has a license and second does not

We can divide the problem into two sections, the first being the probability of the first person having a license, and the second section is the probability that the second person doesn't have a license.

P1 = Probability of the first person having a license, there are 5 out of 8 person having a license, thus P1 = 5/8.

P2 = Probability of the second person having a license. There are 3 people not having a license, out of 8-1 = 7 persons available, since one is taken already from the first choice, therefore P2 = 3/7.

P1 and P2 are dependent events, thus P(1,2) = P1 * P2.

P(1,2) = P1 * P1 = 5/8 * 3/7 = 15/56

Substitute this equation x+3y=18 & -x-4y=-25
sveticcg [70]

Answer:

 {x,y} = {3/7,-43/7}

Step-by-step explanation:

System of Linear Equations entered :

  [1]    x + 3y = -18

  [2]    -x + 4y = -25

Graphic Representation of the Equations :

   3y + x = -18        4y - x = -25

Solve by Substitution :

// Solve equation [1] for the variable  x

 [1]    x = -3y - 18

// Plug this in for variable  x  in equation [2]

  [2]    -(-3y-18) + 4y = -25

  [2]    7y = -43

// Solve equation [2] for the variable  y

  [2]    7y = - 43

  [2]    y = - 43/7

// By now we know this much :

   x = -3y-18

   y = -43/7

// Use the  y  value to solve for  x

   x = -3(-43/7)-18 = 3/7

Solution :

{x,y} = {3/7,-43/7}

When given an algebraic expression involving subtraction, why is it best to rewrite the expression using addition before identif
Ray Of Light [21]
Usually when you do expressions involving subtraction you can do Keep, Change ,Change
That means you keep the sign of the first number and change the other two signs.
It is best you rewrite the expression to addition because a lot of people don't do well with subtracting .
