An immigration rights activist and Russian born American author "Mary Antin" best known for her 1912 autobiography named as "the Promised Land" based on her immigration and adopting new nation. She was a Jews and came to the United States with her mother and siblings in 1894, before that her father went Boston to settle livelihood.

Antin was a brilliant student and after learning English she had remarkable school days. She was encouraged to immigrate due to deficiency of educational and financial sources resulted after assassination of Czar Alexander II  political radicals in March 1884 and soon Jews became victim for political and highlighting reaction.
