Y = -x + 9

To find this answer, first we must find the slope of the current segment. If the two are perpendicular, the lines will have opposite and reciprocal slopes. To find the slope, use the slope formula.

m = y1 - y2/x1 - x2
m = 9 - 3/6 - 0
m = 6/6
m = 1

Since the slope of the new line will be opposite and reciprocal, the new slope will be -1. Now we can use that along with a point to find the line. Since it is a bisector of the original segment, we know it must go through the midpoint. To find the midpoint, take the average of the x values and the average of the y values. The average of the x's (0 and 6) will give you 3. The average of the y's (3 and 9) will give you 6.

Knowing the slope of -1 and the point (3, 6) we can solve for the y intercept using slope intercept form.

y = mx + b ---> plug in known values
6 = -1(3) + b ----> multiply
6 = -3 + b ---> add 3 to both sides
9 = b

With that and the slope, you can give the equation above.

7. The length of a rectangle is 3 centimeters less than twice its width. The perimeter of the rectangle is 48 cm. What are the d
irga5000 [103]
The answer is b

The perimeter of a rectangle is 2(l + w) so in this case, it is 2(15 + 9) and that is equal to 48. But so at c and d. So u need to multiply the width by 2 (9*2=18) and then you’ll see that 18-3=15. And therefore, the length is -5 and the width is 9

A car's velocity is modeled by
Igoryamba

In accordance with the function <em>velocity</em>, the car will have a complete stop after 6 seconds.

<h3>When does the car stop?</h3>

Herein we have a function of the velocity of a car (v), in feet per second, in terms of time (t), in seconds. The car stops for t > 0 and v = 0, then we have the following expression:

0.5 · t² - 10.5 · t + 45 = 0

t² - 21 · t + 90 = 0

By the <em>quadratic</em> formula we get the following two roots: t₁ = 15, t₂ = 6. The <em>stopping</em> time is the <em>least</em> root of the <em>quadratic</em> equation, that is, the car will have a complete stop after 6 seconds.
