There are many answers to this question if you can use the numbers as much as you want. One answer is:
(3*5)*8-(2*8) = 104

The use the Pythagorean theorem to find x, which is the hypotenuse of the right triangle.   Now,

6^{2}  + 9^{2}  = x^{2}

x^{2} = 36 + 81 = 117\\x = \sqrt{117} = 3\sqrt{13}= 10.8

None of the answer choices are to the nearest tenth.  So, I am confused about that.

In  the second problem, the answer should be 11.2
