Answer:

The statement most accurately describes the technique of in medias res is "It starts the play in the middle of the action, rather than at the beginning. "

Explanation:

In medias res is a literary device that the writers use when they start the story in the middle of the action or in the exact moment that the action has just happened and the development of the story and characters will be presented in a different way from the most traditional one as they make use of the flashback to explain the events.

The era of romanticism examines the dark side of human nature and deals with the unconscious. It relates to the idea that everything is individual. During the 1860’s in the U. S. society is confused because everything is changing; Civil War, emancipation of slavery, etc. The system as people know it is being reworked and we see people who were once oppressed, now experiencing freedoms never thought possible. Whitman creates imagery in his poetry, and his poetry creates an idealized image of America, an America made up of the working people. His poetry, imagery, and idealism create a world larger than life...a world the reader can actually see and feel through his poetry.

BlackZzzverrR [31]
The party that "would make war" is the Confederacy. The party that "would accept war" is the Union. The tone of Lincoln's second inaugural address is subdued and weary. He states that the war has gone longer than it should. In this sentence he assigns both parties a responsibility for the war that has divided the nation.
