The total number of beads that Lexi could accommodate based on the on hand items is 101 beads. Subtract the number of beads she needs which is 144 beads with 101 beads. The amount of beads that would need a box is 43 beads. Since a medium box could only accommodate 10 beads at a time, divide 43 with 10 and the answer would be 4 remainder 3. Thus Lexi would only need 4 medium boxes.

What is the answer to this problem -2x – 4 < 3x + 21
horsena [70]

Start with

-2x-4 < 3x+21

Add 2x to both sides:

-4 < 5x+21

Subtract 21 from both sides:

-25 < 5x

Divide both sides by 5. Since it is positive, we don't have to change the inequality sign:

-5 < x

So, the answer is x > -5

A man bought 5 laptops and a desktop for taka 229600. If a laptop costs taka 32750 find the cost of the desktop
Anton [14]

One laptop costs 32,750.

He bought 5 laptops.

So, 5 x 32,750 = 163,750.

Let d = cost of one desktop.

163,750 + d = 229,600.

Solve for d to find your answer.

Without using (10), show directly that (10.6^-1)^8=17.6^-8
blagie [28]
We are given the expression:

(17.6^-1)^8 = 17.6 ^ -8

This means that the two terms on each side are equal. We are asked to show how this is possible.

First, use the rule of exponents. If a term raised to the power of a number x^n and is further raised to the power m: (x^n)^m, to simplify the expression, multiply n and m and this will be your end exponent = x^nm.

We can apply this rule here:

17.6^-1 ^ 8

-1 * 8 = -8

then, retain the base and replace the exponent with the product nm:

17.6 ^-8. This proves that the left term is equal to the right term. <span />
