We know of course

\sin ^2 x + \cos^2 x = 1

so we're left to show true or false,

\tan^2 x + 1 = \csc^2 x

\dfrac{\sin^2 x}{\cos ^2 x} + 1 = \dfrac{\sin ^2 x + \cos^2 x}{\cos ^2x} = \dfrac{1}{\cos^2x} = \sec^2 x

That's different than the identity because we got sec²x on the right.

Ann believes that y= 3x (x -7) is a quadratic function. Jordan says that she is wrong because the degree (highest exponent) is n
ad-work [718]

Answer:

Ann us correct. It's a quadratic function.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation is,

y = 3x(x - 7)

By converting this equation into the standard quadratic equation,

y = 3x² - 21x

Highest exponent of the polynomial equation is 2 (Exponent of highest degree variable x²). This decides that the given function is a quadratic function.

Therefore, Ann is correct. It's a quadratic function.

Jessie bought 12 cases of soda for the party. If his total bill was $41.40, how much did each case cost?
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

B. $3.45

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of cases of soda bought = 12

Total bill payed = $41.40

Let x represent the cost of 1 case.

Thus:

12x = $41.40

Divide both sides by 12

12x/12 = 41.40/12

x = 3.45

Cost of each case = x = $3.45
