The length is 16cm each side because 16+16 =32 and then 60-32 =28 and divide 28 by 2 is 14 and 14 by 2 is 7 and so the length minus half the width is 9. 16-7 is 9

<span>width = x
</span><span>length = 0.5x + 9

2(x + 0.5x + 9) = 60
1.5x + 9 = 60/2
1.5x + 9 = 30
1.5x = 30 - 9
1.5x = 21
x = 21/1.5
x = 14 cm  </span>← width

length = 0.5x + 9 = 0.5 * 14 + 9 = 7 + 9 = 16 cm

The volume of a cone is 3rx? cubic units and its height is x units. Which expression represents the radius of the cone's base, i
Marianna [84]

Answer:

It is given that the volume of a cone = 3\pi x^3 cubic units

Volume of cone with radius 'r' and height 'h' = \frac{1}{3}\pi r^2h

Equating the given volumes, we get

3\pi x^3=\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2h

r^2h=3 × 3x^3

r^2h=9 x^3

It is given that the height is 'x' units.

Therefore, r^2x=9x^3

r^2=9x^2

Therefore, r=3 x

So, the expression '3 x' represents the radius of the cone's base in units.

Suppose the discrete random variable X has the probability distribution below:
Talja [164]

(a) P(X < 3) = P(X = 0) + P(X = 1) + P(X = 2) = 0.11 + 0.52 + 0.19 = 0.82

(b) P(X ≥ 1) = P(X = 1) + P(X = 2) + P(X = 3) + P(X = 4) = 0.52 + 0.19 + 0.12 + 0.06 = 0.89

(c) µ = 0×0.11 + 1×0.52 + 2×0.19 + 3×0.12 + 4×0.06 = 1.5

(d) σ² = (0²×0.11 + 1²×0.52 + 2²×0.19 + 3²×0.12 + 4²×0.06) - µ² = 1.07

σ = √(σ²) ≈ 1.03

Total                         800                     100%

Step-by-step explanation:

For this case we can create the following table calculating the percent frequency as:

\% = \frac{X_i}{n}

Where X_i represent the number of students for the i category and n the total sample size.

Major                    X_i             %
