Answer:

Put the cut portion in vertical upward position and cover it with clean tissue or cloth.

Explanation:

At first to minimize the bleeding from wrist we need to raise the wrist up and then apply pressure by clean tissue or cloth. Wrap the tissue/clothe around the wrist. If blood is soaking through the material wrapped, don't remove the wrap but pot more tissues/cloths around the wrap and continue to apply the pressure. The hand should be kept raised at a level more than the level of heart of that injured person. Due to continuous pressure of the wrapping material the bleeding will stop in around 5-8 minutes.

How does capillary action happen?
sammy [17]
Capillary action occurs when the adhesion to the walls is stronger than the cohesive forces between the liquid molecules. The height to which capillary action will take water in a uniform circular tube (picture to right) is limited by surface tension and, of course, gravity.

Describe one way to correlate similar rock layers
Verdich [7]

These fossils are very useful for us because we can use them to date the layers of rock that they are found in. Fossils that can be used in this way are called index fossils, and rock layers with the same index fossils in them can be correlated.     Not my answer, link here for full
