Locus of control is the major aspect of attribution style theory. These loci determine the attitude of a person. There are two type locus of control
External locus of control: External locus of control determines the external cause for behavior affected such as fate, luck, etc for instance if a student stops trying or put efforts just because he believes in fate or luck, etc.
Internal locus of control:
Internal locus of control determines the internal factor for contribution in the affected behavior such as self-esteem, self courage. For example, a student gets first prize in the class because he does work hard.
A good reason for this would be that they also did trade with other cultures at the time. This in effect meant that they were exposed to different cultures to which they could adapt and absorb certain aspects of these cultures.
