Answer:

option C

Step-by-step explanation:

The projectile motion of an object can be modeled using h(t) = gt2 + v0t + h0, where g is the acceleration due to gravity. The acceleration due to gravity is –9.8 m/s2

An object is launched at an initial velocity of 20 meters per second and an initial height of 60 meters.

g= -9.8, v0 = 20  and h0 = 60

So the equation becomes

h(t)= -9.8t^2 +20t +60

When the object hit the ground the height =0 so we replace h(t)=0

Apply quadratic formula

t= \frac{-b+-\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}

a= -9.8 , b=20  and c= 60

t= \frac{-20+-\sqrt{(20)^2-4(-9.8)(60)}}{2(-9.8)}

What value of k will make this relationship NOT a function?
devlian [24]

Answer:

the correct answer is b.

Step-by-step explanation:

it is b because if you plug in -7, two of the x-values will have -7 making the x-values the same and in order to be a function all x-values have to be different.

At the ice cream shoppe ,one banana split and five milkshakes cost $16.24.If three banana splits and two milkshakes cost $15.05,
34kurt

Answer: the cost of a milkshake is $2.59

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the cost of a banana split.

Let y represent the cost of a milkshake.

At the ice cream shop, one banana split and five milkshakes cost $16.24. This is expressed as

x + 5y = 16.24- - - - - - - - - - - - -1

If three banana splits and two milkshakes cost $15.05. This is expressed as

3x + 2y = 15.05- - - - - - - - - - - - -2

Multiplying equation 1 by 3 and equation 2 by 1, it becomes

3x + 15y = 48.72

3x + 2y = 15.05

Subtracting, it becomes

13y = 33.67

y = 33.67/13

y = 2.59

Substituting y = 2.59 into equation 1, it becomes

x + 5 × 2.59 = 16.24

x + 12.95 = 16.24

x = 16.24 - 12.95

x = 3.29

Any help would be appreciated! :)
ikadub [295]

Answer:

-7, then -13, then -19

Step-by-step explanation:

Plug in x values to get y.

y = -2(0) - 7

y = 0 - 7

y = -7

y = -2(3) - 7

y = -6 - 7

y = -13

y = -2(6) - 7

y = -12 - 7

y = -19

Hope this helps. :0)
