A solid conducting sphere with radius R that carries positive charge Q is concentric with a very thin insulating shell of radius

2R that also carries charge Q. The charge Q is distributed uniformly over the insulating shell.Find the magnitude of the electric field in the region 02R. Express your answer in terms of the variables R, r, Q, and constants π and ε0.

Explanation:

Gauss Law relates the distribution of electric charge to the resulting electric field.

Applying Gauss's Law,

                              EA = Q / ε₀

Where:

E is the magnitude of the electric field,

A is the cross-sectional area of the conducting sphere,

Q is the positive charge

ε₀ is the permittivity

We be considering cases for the specified regions.

Case 1: When r < R

The electric field is zero, since the enclosed charge is equal to zero

                                            E(r) = 0

Case 2: When R < r < 2R

The enclosed charge equals to Q, then the electric field equals;

                              E(4πr²) = Q / ε₀

                              E = Q / 4πε₀r²

                              E = KQ /r²

Constant K = 1 / 4πε₀ = 9.0 × 10⁹ Nm²/C²

Case 3: When r > 2R

The enclosed charge equals to Q, then the electric field equals;

                               E(4πr²) = 2Q / ε₀

                               E = 2Q / 4πε₀r²

                               E = 2KQ /r²

An 80 kg skateboarder moving at 3 m/s pushes off with her back foot to move faster. If her velocity increases to 5 m/s, what is
Serga [27]

Answer:

640 J

Explanation:

ΔKE = KE − KE₀

ΔKE = ½ mv² − ½ mv₀²

ΔKE = ½ m (v² − v₀²)

ΔKE = ½ (80 kg) ((5 m/s)² − (3 m/s)²)

ΔKE = 640 J

Her kinetic energy increases by 640 J, so she does 640 J of work.

use particle motion to explain what happens when molten steel becomes a steel beam to be used in construction.
n200080 [17]

Explanation:

A molten steel is in a liquid phase of matter. It has no defined volume of shape at this state. The particles inside this materials in this form is randomized by they are still attached to each other.

  • On cooling, when the molten steel solidifies and sets into a solid steel beam, the particles take up a fixed position and forms a definite shape and this confers a definite volume on them.
  • The randomized particles stops and forms fixed crystals about their lattice.
  • This way, the beam can carry and support a fixed amount of load.

Investigations provide large amounts of information about a wide range of variables.
Lelechka [254]
This statement is true that Investigations provide large amounts of information about a wide range of variables.

We investigate to collect the information about all the variables, then we correlate the information of different variables to get some common information. And, with this information, we further process to achieve the required goal.
