40+3.50x5=57.50 so you purchased 5 movies for the total of 57.50 at the end of the month

40+3.5m=57.5 m=5 Because since they already spent 40 out of 57.5 dollars, the rest is used towards movies which is 17.5 dollars left and since each movies is 3.5 dollars you divide that which is 5 so they watched 5 movies. ;)
