My linear expression y= 5x -3 What is an equivalent to this problem and is it equal
azamat

Answer:

5x - y = 3

5x - y - 3 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

y = 5x - 3   it's a slope-intercept form

y = 5x - 3         subtract 5x from both sides

-5x + y = -3          change the signs

5x - y = 3     it's a standard form

5x - y = 3          subtract 3 from both sides

5x - y - 3 = 0         it's a general form

$8.00 × 20 = $160 in 2 hours
valkas [14]
$160.00 earned per week divided by the $8.00 paid per hour equals how many hours worked ...

$160.00 / $8.00 = x

Please solve this simultaneous equation, i'm not that good at it.

2r-s=10
rs-s^2=12
o-na [289]

Answer:

s = 6, r = 8 or s = 4, r = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

2r - s = 10

2r = 10 + s

r = 5 + s/2 --(1)

rs - s^2 = 12 --(2)

sub (1) into (2):

(5 + s/2)s - s^2 = 12

5s + 0.5s^2 - s^2 = 12

-0.5s^2 + 5s - 12 = 0

s^2 - 10s + 24 = 0

(s - 6)(s - 4) = 0

therefore s = 6 or s = 4

when s = 6, r = 8 and when s = 4, r = 7
