Answer: x less-than 12

Explanation:

If we were to word out, eight less than four times a number is less than 56, we get 4x - 8 < 56. Now since we have the equation we simply solve it and replace the lesser sign with an equal sign (Don't worry we will replace it back).

1.) 4x - 8 = 56

2.) 4x - 8 (+ 8) = 56 (+ 8)

3.) 4x = 48

4.) 4x/4 = 48/4

5.) x = 12

6.) x < 12

Now we have the answer, x less than 12 (x<12).

Find the length of the side of rhoumbus whose diagonals are of length 6cm and 8cm.
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

In a rhombus, the diagonals bisect at right angles. That means half the diagonals form a right angle triangle then we can try the Pythagorean theorem. so -

one side of triangle = 6/2 =3 (half of the diagonal)

other side = 8/2 = 4

a^2 + b^2 = c2

3 ^2 + 4^2 = c^2

9+16 = c^2

c^2=25

c = \sqrt{25} = 5

the hypothenus forms one side of the rhombus and here the hypothenus is 5, so the lenght of a side is 5 !
