You don' need to grooup
what you do is
factor first term
2=1 times 2
(2x-)(x-)
they are both minus since middle term is negative
now factor other term and get the factors closest together
20=5 times 4

(2x-5)(x-4)
try it out
2x^2-5x-8x+20
2x^2-13x+20

faotred is
(2x-5)(x-4)

if you want to group you do

2 times 20=40
find what 2 numbers multiply to get 40 and add to get -13
numbers are -8 and -5
split it up
2x^2-8x-5x+20
group like factors
(2x^2-8x)+(-5x+20)
undistribute common factors
(2x)(x-4)+(-5)(x-4)
reverse distributive property ab+ac=a(b+c)
(2x-5)(x-4)

To find the average of a student’s test scores, add the scores and divide by the number of tests. Suppose Ryan scored 85, 92, 88
Lilit [14]
X= (85+92+88+98)/4
The slash means to divide. So you’re making a fraction with all the scores on top and the number of scores on the bottom.

the vertices of PQR are P(-5,1), Q(-4,6), and R(-2,3), graph P"Q"R" after a composition of the transformations in the order they
horsena [70]

SOLUTION

We are told to translate; (x, y) to (x -8, y). This means we have to add - 8 to each value of x in P(-5,1), Q(-4,6), and R(-2,3).

In P(-5,1), x = -5 and y = 1

In Q(-4,6), x = -4 and y = 6 and

In R(-2,3), x = -2 and y = 3

\begin{gathered} P(-5,\text{ 1) translates to (-5 -8, 1) }\rightarrow P^i(-13,\text{ 1)} \\ Q(-4,\text{ 6) translates to (-4 -8, 6) }\rightarrow Q^i(-12,\text{ 6)} \\ R(-2,\text{ 3) translates to (-2 -8, 3) }\rightarrow R^i(-10,\text{ 3)} \end{gathered}

For the dilation centered at the origin k =2, simply multiply the value of k, which is 2 into the translations.

\begin{gathered} At\text{ K = 2,  }P^i(-13,\text{ 1)  }\rightarrow\text{   }2(-13,\text{ 1)  }\rightarrow\text{  }P^{ii}(-26,\text{ 2)} \\ Q^i(-12,\text{ 6)  }\rightarrow\text{  }2(-12,\text{ 6)  }\rightarrow\text{   Q}^{ii}(-24,\text{ 12)} \\ R^i(-10,\text{ 3)   }\rightarrow\text{   }2(-10,\text{ 3)  }\rightarrow\text{   R}^{ii}(-20,\text{ 6)} \end{gathered}

A survey was conducted on the types of shoes worn by teachers at South Kitsap high school. The Venn diagram below summarizes the
Sophie [7]

Okay, here we have this:

Considering the provided information, we are going to calculate the requested probability, so we obtain the following:

So to calculate the probability of the conjunction of two events we will substitute in the following formula:

P(A\cup B)=P(A)+P(B)-P(A\cap B)

Replacing:

P(wearing brown shoes or tennis shoes U sneakers)=(30+58-8)/100

P(wearing brown shoes or tennis shoes U sneakers)=80/100

P(wearing brown shoes or tennis shoes U sneakers)=0.8

Finally we obtain that the probability that a randomly selected teacher is wearing brown shoes or tennis shoes/sneakers is 0.80.
