There is a 25% that Clarissa will choose oatmeal. That is because there are 4 options that can be chosen at random. So the probability to choose any of the meals would be 25%.

No, Clarissa is NOT correct. The probability of picking oatmeal at random is 1/4 because she has 4 choices, and she has the same probability for all the choices. Lets divide so you can understand better:-

 100 ÷ 4 = 25 = 1/4 = 25%.

So, she is wrong.

Hope i helped ya!!

Select the correct definition of a least squares regression line. A line fitted to data points that minimizes the sum of the squ
poizon [28]

Answer:

A line fitted to data points that minimizes the sum of the squared residuals

Step-by-step explanation:

The principle of least square(LS) consists of determining the values of the unknown parameters that will minimize the sum of squares of errors (or residuals) where errors are defined as the differences between observed values and the corresponding values predicted or estimated by the fitted model equation.

Thus, the correct definition of least square regression line is "<em>A line fitted to data points that minimizes the sum of the squared residuals</em>"

Line A is represented by the equation, y = 1/4x + 5 . (a) Write in slope-intercept form, the equation of a line that is steeper
8_murik_8 [283]

Answer:

  • y = x + 5
  • y = 1/4x + 1

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Given line</u>

  • y = 1/4x + 5

(a)

<em>A steeper line has a greater slope</em>

So the line

  • y = x + 5

Is 4 times steeper than the given line

(b)

<em>Vertical shift down of a function y is the function (y - 4)</em>

<u>So the required line is:</u>

  • y = 1/4x + 5 - 4
  • y = 1/4x + 1
