Part 1:
perimeter = 2(Length + width)
if the width is 1/3 it's length, then
width = 1/3L
plug that into the first equation
perimeter = 2( L + 1/3L)

Part 2:
the perimeter of the rectangle from part 1 is 56 inches. using this we can solve for L, the length:
56 = 2(L + 1/3 L)
56 = 2L + 2/3L
56 = 2 2/3 L
L = 21

Now that we know the length, we can solve for the width.
L = 21
W = 1/3 L
W = 1/3 x 21
W = 7

Using the Length (21 inches) and the Width (7 inches), we can solve for the area of the rectangle.
Area = length x width
Area = 21 inches x 7 inches
Area = 147 square inches

Daily low temperatures in Columbus, OH in January 2014 were approximately normally distributed with a mean of 15.45 and a standa
Alona [7]

Answer: 12.10

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Mean : \mu = 15.45

Standard deviation : \sigma = 13.70

The formula to calculate the z-score :-

z=\dfrac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

For x= 5 degrees

z=\dfrac{5-15.45}{13.70}=-0.7627737226\approx-0.76

For x= 10 degrees

z=\dfrac{10-15.45}{13.70}=-0.397810218\approx-0.40

The P-value : P(-0.76

=0.3445783-0.2236273=0.120951\approx0.1210

In percent , 0.1210\times100=12.10\%

Hence, the percentage of days had a low temperature between 5 degrees and 10 degrees = 12.10%

provide a counterexample (specific values of a,b, etc. which make the statement false) for each of the following statements. Ass
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

1. a=3, b = 2, c = 1.

2. a=2, b=3, c=4, d=6.

3. a = 9, b = 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

1.  3 | 21   is a counterexample  because 3 does not divide into  2 or 1.

2. 23 | 46 is a counterexample because 2 does not divide into 3.

3. 9 | 3^2 is a counterexample because 9 does not divide into 3.

What is the constant of proportionality in the equation 3y=2x
Inessa05 [86]

Answer:

2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

3y = 2x

Divide each side by 3

3y/3 = 2x/3

y = 2/3 x

The  direct variation relationship is

y = kx

In this case k = 2/3
