No, they won't, mass coincides with density and objects have different densities a one pound lead ball would be smaller than a one pound copper one.

What is the derivative of x^2 - x + 3 at the point x = 5?
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

9

Explanation:

d/dx (x² - x + 3)

= 2x - 1

when x = 5,

2x-1

= 2(5) - 1

= 10 - 1

= 9

If a ball takes 12 seconds to hit the ground, how fast was it falling when it hit the ground?
Maru [420]

Answer:

Roughly around 117.6 mph

Explanation

To find out something's speed (or velocity) after a certain amount of time, you just multiply the acceleration of gravity by the amount of time since it was let go of. So you get: velocity = -9.81 m/s^2 * time, or V = gt. The negative sign just means that the object is moving downwards.

About how long does it take the sun to rotate once about its axis?
Troyanec [42]

Very very roughly, an Earth month.

The Sun isn't solid, so it doesn't all have to rotate at the same rate. Different latitudes actually rotate at different speeds. One complete rotation is about 24 days at the Sun's equator, but 35 days near the poles !

A 3.00 m-long 6.00-kg ladder pivoted at the top hangs down from a platform at the circus. A 42.0-kg trapeze artist climbs to a p
statuscvo [17]

Answer:

The period of the system of ladder and woman, T = 2.5 seconds

Explanation:

Mass of the ladder, m_1 = 6 kg

Mass of the artiste, m_2 = 42.0 kg

Length of the ladder, L = 42.0 kg

The total moment of inertia can be calculated using the equation:

I = \frac{1}{3} M_1 L^2 + m_2 (\frac{L}{2} )^2\\I = \frac{1}{3} *6*3^2 + 42* (\frac{3}{2} )^2\\I = 18 + 94.5\\I = 112.5 kg m^2

D = L/2 = 3/2

D = 1.5 m

The frequency of the system of ladder and woman follows that of a physical pendulum which can be given by the equation:

f = \frac{1}{2\pi } \sqrt{\frac{mgD}{I} } \\f = \frac{1}{2\pi } \sqrt{\frac{48*9.8*1.5}{112.5} }\\f = 0.4

The period of the system of ladder and woman is given by:

T = 1/f

T = 1/0.4

T = 2.5 seconds
