Assuming the shipping crate is a box wide sides = sso the volume of the crate is s^3
since the new crate is two times the volume so 2s^3then solve the side of the new crate
x = (2s^3)^(1/3)x = 1.26s
solving the surface area of the new crate
a = 6x^2a = 6(1.26s)^2a = 6(1.58s^2)so tim and tom should buy 1.58 times the original paint

Andre and Morgan are both headed to Florida for vacation. Andre will drive 70 miles per hour. Morgan will drive 55 miles per hou
babymother [125]

Answer:

The number of hours Moran wold have driven before Andre catches up with him is 14 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

The given information are;

The speed with which Andre will drive = 70 miles per hour

The speed with which Morgan will drive = 55 miles per hour

The time of departure of Morgan = 3 hours before Andre departs

Let the time at which Andre catches up with Morgan be, t

We have, from the definition of distance traveled;

Distance traveled =Speed × Time

The distance Morgan would have driven in t hours = 55 × t

Given that to catch up with Morgan, Andre has to travel the same distance, and that Andre starts 3 hours late, we have;

The distance Andre would  drive when Morgan has driven for t hours = 70 × (t - 3)

Therefore, since the distance at the point they meet is the same distance for them both, we have;

55 × t = 70 × (t - 3)

55 × t = 70 × t - 210

210 = 70 × t - 55 × t  = 15 × t

t = 210/15 = 14 hours

Therefore, Morgan would have driven for 14 hours before Andre catches uo with him.

Factor by grouping.......
Gekata [30.6K]

Answer:

A. (7n-1) (8n-1)

Step-by-step explanation:

56n^2 -8n-7n+1

56n^2 -8n       -7n+1

Factor out 8n from the first group   and -1 from the second group

8n (7n-1)     -1(7n-1)

Factor out the (7n-1)

(7n-1) (8n-1)

katovenus [111]

Complete question :

It is estimated 28% of all adults in United States invest in stocks and that 85% of U.S. adults have investments in fixed income instruments (savings accounts, bonds, etc.). It is also estimated that 26% of U.S. adults have investments in both stocks and fixed income instruments. (a) What is the probability that a randomly chosen stock investor also invests in fixed income instruments? Round your answer to decimal places. (b) What is the probability that a randomly chosen U.S. adult invests in stocks, given that s/he invests in fixed income instruments?

Answer:

0.929 ; 0.306

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the information:

P(stock) = P(s) = 28% = 0.28

P(fixed income) = P(f) = 0.85

P(stock and fixed income) = p(SnF) = 26%

a) What is the probability that a randomly chosen stock investor also invests in fixed income instruments? Round your answer to decimal places.

P(F|S) = p(FnS) / p(s)

= 0.26 / 0.28

= 0.9285

= 0.929

(b) What is the probability that a randomly chosen U.S. adult invests in stocks, given that s/he invests in fixed income instruments?

P(s|f) = p(SnF) / p(f)

P(S|F) = 0.26 / 0.85 = 0.3058823

P(S¦F) = 0.306 (to 3 decimal places)

In the diagram, ARST-
antiseptic1488 [7]

Answer:

The scale factor is 4.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Scale factor from ∆RST to ∆XYZ = side length of ∆XYZ / corresponding side length of ∆RST

Thus:

XY corresponds to RS

XY = 45

RS = 10

Therefore:

Scale factor = 45/10 = 4.5

Scale factor from ∆RST to ∆XYZ = 4.5
