This equation shows how the total cost of visiting the science museum as a member is related to the number of visits. c = 9.8v +

22.7 The variable v represents the number of visits to the science museum, and the variable c represents the total cost of those visits. What is the maximum number of visits a member of the science museum can make for a total cost of $42.30?

1st plug in 42.30 as C. 42.30=9.8v+22.7
2nd: subtract 22.7 from both sides to cancel it out. 42.30-22.7=9.8v+22.7-22.7
3rd: simplify. 19.6=9.8v
4th: divide by 9.8 so that it cancels out. 19.6/9.8=9.8v/9.8
5th: simplify. 2=V

Well it's giving you what the cost is (42.3), so plug that in for c:

42.3 = 9.8v + 22.7

And now you need to solve for the number of visits (v)!

19.6 = 9.8v

v=2

So you can visit the museum a maximum of 2 times!

In 2010 Singapore welcome 11600000 overseas visitors.This value has been rounded off to the nearest 100000.What are the largest
spayn [35]

Answer:

The largest possible number of overseas visitors would be 11,640,000.

The smallest possible number of overseas visitors would be 11,550,000.

Step-by-step explanation:

The number 11,600,000 was rounded off to the nearest 100,000.

This means that either 0 or 1 was added to the figure with place value of 100,000.

It would be zero (0) in the case where the number after the 100,000th placed value number is lower than 5 and it would be one (1) in the case where the number after the 100,000th placed value is greater than or equal to 5.

Therefore, the largest possible number of overseas visitors would be 11,640,000.

The smallest possible number of overseas visitors would be 11,550,000.

A. The pair of linear equations are: x + y = 55 and y = x + 25

B. Number of time she spend running everyday is: 15 minutes.

C. It is not possible.

How to Write a System of Linear Equations?

A system of equations consist of linear equations that have unknown variables whose values make the linear equations in the system true.

Part A: To write a pair of linear equations, do the following,

Let x represent the time Jackie runs

Let y represent the time Jackie dances

We are given that, Jackie runs and dances for a total of 55 minutes every day, therefore, the first linear equation would be:

x + y = 55 --> equation 1

We are also given that Jackie dances for 25 minutes longer than she runs, therefore, the second linear equation would be:

y = x + 25 --> equation 2

Therefore, the two pair of linear equations that shows the relationship between the number of minutes Jackie runs and dances everyday are:

x + y = 55

y = x + 25

Part B: Substitute y = (x + 25) into equation 1

x + y = 55 --> equation 1

x + x + 25 = 55

2x + 25 = 55

2x = 55 - 25

2x = 30

x = 15

Therefore, the number of time she spend running everyday is: 15 minutes.

Part C:

If she spent 45 minutes dancing (y = 45), and x = 15, substitute the values into x + y = 55 to find out if it is possible.

15 + 45 = 55

60 = 55 (not true)

Therefore, it is not possible.

Sally has 243.75 pieces of candy. John has 27.4 pieces of candy. How many pieces of candy do they have in all? John thinks altog
yKpoI14uk [10]

Answer:

Yes, John is correct.

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the total amount of candy you must add the amounts Sally and John have. Sally has 243.75 and John has 27.4. When you add those two together you can 217.5 which is what John thinks therefore he is correct.
