Answer: option D

Explanation: In redox reaction both oxidation and reduction Occurs at a time in single reaction.

And oxidation numbers will change.

But here there was no change in oxidation no of both Cu and Na.

They are remains same before and after the reaction.

Hence it is not a redox reaction.

D - This is not a redox reaction because no electrons were transferred.

In Redox reactions, typically subscripts are replaced with a coefficient. In the equation given, each reactant and product maintains the same subscripts that they began with and did not gain a coefficient, thus, not being a redox reduction.

Hope this helps!

Which carboxylic acid is used to prepare the ester shown?
valentinak56 [21]

Answer:

B

Explanation:

The general equation for the reaction of a carboxylic acid with an alkanol to form an ester is shown below;

RCOOH + ROH ------> RCOOR + H2O

Hence; the reactant carboxylic acid can only be the compound (CH3)2-CH-CH2-COOH in accordance with the general reaction equation shown above.

Hence the reaction is;

(CH3)2-CH-CH2-COOH + CH3-CH2OH -------> CH3CH2 OCO-CH2-CH-(CH3)2
