What causes El Nino to occur?

El Nino is essentially caused by the interaction between the surface layers of the tropical Pacific Ocean and the atmosphere over it. The water is warmer due to the trade winds reversing direction or becoming less intense.

Identify the climate factors that change during an El Nino?

El Niño is the periodic warming of water in the Pacific Ocean every few years. When it occurs, it means more energy is available for storms to form there. El Niño also affects wind shear, which is when air currents at a lower altitude blow in a different direction from winds higher in the atmosphere.

How would an El Nino affect the fishing industry in south america?

El Nino is the slight warming of the waters in the Pacific Ocean and is known to affect the weather around the world. ... This allows cool water to well up around the coast of South America. The cool water is rich in nutrients and fish, providing rich pickings for the Peruvian fishing industry.

How do countries in the western pacific, such as Australia and Indonesia, experience droughts during an El Nino?

Though El Niño is a normal climate pattern that develops every 3-7 years, it can cause unusual weather patterns around the globe. In general, El Niño causes higher rainfall in parts of North and South America and drought in western Pacific nations such as Australia and Indonesia.

What are resources a living thing needs to survive? Are these resources limited or unlimited?
blagie [28]

Answer:

The basic resources a living organism needs to survive are sustinence, shelter, and heat. Sustinence is not an unlimited source and wild animals have to hunt to get their food, and if they hunt too much, the food chain will fall out of balnce to where there is no more of that species.

Shelter or safe homes can also be limited, from animals that find natural spots, or make their own homes out of resources, it can be difficult to not be constantly exposed to the natural environment.

Heat is dependant on climate, and is provided by the sun. Nonetheless, in the winter, it isn't reliable, and in the summer, animals may overheat. In conclusion overall, all of these resources are limited or depending on such circumstances.

Why are the terms dominant and recessive misleading?
sleet_krkn [62]
They are misleading, because dominant alleles do not dominate or prevent recessive alleles from doing a job. Also, one allele can be considered dominant in one regard and recessive in another. It just depends on what you are trying to do with it.
