Answer:

9 red candies have peanuts.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Total number of candies in the bag=20 candies,

Number of red candies = 12

Number of candies with peanut = 15

To Find:

The number of red candies with peanut=?

Solution:

Since the picking a red candy and picking a candy with peanuts are independent

p(candies with Peanuts | red candies)=P(candies with Peanuts)

Hence

P(candies with Peanuts)=\frac{15}{20}

P(candies with Peanuts)=0.75

We Have 12 red candies, so

Number of red candies with peanuts=P(candies with Peanuts) x number of red candies

Number of red candies with peanuts=0.75 x 12

Number of red candies with peanuts= 9
