Answer:

The value of x = 11  and y = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : parallelogram LMNO, MP = 21 m, LP = (y + 3) m, NP = (3y – 1) m, and OP = (2x – 1) m.

We have to find values of x and y.

Let P be the point of intersection of diagonals OM and LN.

In a parallelogram diagonal  bisects at right angles  and point of intersection divide diagonal in equal parts.

Thus, OP = MP and LP = PN

OP = MP , substitute the values, we get,

(2x-1) =  21

⇒ 2x = 22

⇒  x = 11

LP = PN , substitute the values, we get,

y + 3 = 3y -1

⇒  3y - y = 4

⇒  2y = 4

⇒ y = 2

Thus, the value of x = 11  and y = 2

Which value for x makes the sentence true?
Illusion [34]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

- \frac{2}{5} + x = \frac{8}{3}

Add \frac{2}{5} to both sides

x = \frac{8}{3} + \frac{2}{5}

Before adding the fractions we require them to have a common denominator

Multiply the numerator/ denominator of the first fraction by 5 and

Multiply the numerator/ denominator of the second fraction by 3

x = \frac{8(5)}{3(5)} + \frac{2(3)}{5(3)}

  = \frac{40}{15} + \frac{6}{15}

Now add the numerators leaving the denominator

x = \frac{40+6}{15} = \frac{46}{15} → D

A bag contains 6 red balls and 9 black balls. Two balls are drawn, one after the other with replacement. Find the probability th
patriot [66]

Answer:

a) 13/25

b) 12/15

Step-by-step explanation:

a) Since it is with replacement, the chance of them being both the same colour will be

P(both red) + P(both black) = (6/15*6/15) + (9/15*9/15)

                                              = 13/25

b) If they are both different colours, then we will be working out

P(both colours) = (6/15*9/15)*2 = 12/25   (Its *2 because the other way of pulling both colours is 9/15*6/15 which is the same but flipped)

Another way of working this question out is

P(1-All red or all blue) which from above we know that All red or all blue is 13/25 so

P(1-All red or all blue) = 1 - 13/25 = 12/25
