Answer:

The value of x = 11  and y = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : parallelogram LMNO, MP = 21 m, LP = (y + 3) m, NP = (3y – 1) m, and OP = (2x – 1) m.

We have to find values of x and y.

Let P be the point of intersection of diagonals OM and LN.

In a parallelogram diagonal  bisects at right angles  and point of intersection divide diagonal in equal parts.

Thus, OP = MP and LP = PN

OP = MP , substitute the values, we get,

(2x-1) =  21

⇒ 2x = 22

⇒  x = 11

LP = PN , substitute the values, we get,

y + 3 = 3y -1

⇒  3y - y = 4

⇒  2y = 4

⇒ y = 2

Thus, the value of x = 11  and y = 2

The distance between A and B and the distance between C and D are the same ( the 2 little lines indicate that).

This means the two arc lengths would also be the same.

Set the equations equal to each other,, solve for x then solve for the arc length.

AB = 3x +9

CD = 11x-71

3x+9 = 11x-71

Subtract 3x from both sides:

9 = 8x-71

Add 71 to both sides:

80 = 8x

Divide both sides by 8:

x = 10

Now solve for AB:

3x +9 = 3(10) +9 = 30+9 = 39

The answer is AB = 39

A graph is shown below:
Charra [1.4K]

Answer:

The correct answer is actually B. x - 3y < 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Because you must convert the equation to y-intercept form first.

Which makes it y = 1/3x - 1.6

So y = 1.6 and using the slope of 1/3x you can find that x = 5

I need the equation of the line in the graph
sattari [20]
First of all, we know that it's a linear equation, which means it'll have to be y=mx+b.

Identify your points.
(0, 0) and (5, 4).

Now find the slope by doing
m = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁)
m = (4 - 0)/(5 - 0)
m = 4/5
So the slope is 4/5 or 0.8.

Now set the equation up. You have a point and the slope, so use the point-slope equation.
y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)
y - 4 = 4/5(x - 5)
y - 4 = 4/5x - 4
y = 4/5x

So the equation of the line is y=4/5x.

A rectangular street sign has an area of 40 square inches and a perimeter of 28 inches. What are the dimensions of the sign?
Usimov [2.4K]

Answer: 4 inches by 10 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a rectangle can be written as b*h, while perimeter is equal to (2b +2h).

A = b*h = 40

P = 2b + 2h = 28

P = 2b + 2h

28 = 2b + 2h

28 = 2(b+h)

14 = b + h

What two numbers add to 14 and multiply to 40?

4 * 10 = 40

4 + 10 = 14
