You stand 17.5 m from a wall holding a tennis ball. You throw the tennis ball at the wall at an angle of 22.5∘ from the ground w

ith an initial speed of 24.5 m/s. At what height above its initial position does the tennis ball hit the wall? Ignore any effects of air resistance.

The height of the ball would be 4.32 m

<u>Explanation:</u>

Given-

Distance from the ball, s = 17.5 m

Angle of projection, θ = 22.5°

Initial speed, u = 24.5 m/s

Height, h = ?

Let t be the time taken.

Horizontal speed, u_{x} = u cosθ

                                   = 24.5 * cos 22.5°

                                   = 24.5 * 0.924

                                   = 22.64 m/s

Vertical velocity, u_{y} = u sinθ

                                 = 24.5 * sin 22.5°

                                 = 24.5 * 0.383

                                 = 9.38 m/s

We know,

x = u * cos (theta) * t

17.5 = 22.64 * t\\\\t = 0.77s

To calculate the height:

h = ut - \frac{1}{2}gt^2

h =  u sin (theta)t - \frac{1}{2} gt^2

h = 9.38 * 0.77 - \frac{1}{2} * 9.8 * (0.77)^2\\ \\h = 7.22 - 2.90\\\\h = 4.32m\\

Therefore, height of the ball would be 4.32 m

iris [78.8K]

Answer:

98 m √

Explanation:

How about s = Vo * t + ½at² ?

s = h = Vo * 2s - 4.9m/s² * (2s)² = 2Vo - 19.6

and

h = Vo * 10s - 4.9m/s² * (10s)² = 10Vo - 490

Subtract 2nd from first:

0 = -8Vo + 470.4

Vo = 58.8 m/s

h = 58.8m/s * 2s - 4.9m/s² * (2s)² = 98 m

A gold bar has a density of 19.3 g/mL. If the gold bar has a mass of 6.3 grams, what is the volume?
Natali [406]

Answer:

The correct answer is "0.32 mL".

Explanation:

The given values are:

Density of gold bar,

d = 19.3 g/mL

Mass of gold bar,

m = 6.3 grams

Now,

The volume will be:

⇒  Density = \frac{Mass}{Volume}

or,

⇒  Volume=\frac{Mass}{Density}

On substituting the values, we get

⇒               =\frac{6.3 \ g}{19.3 \ g/mL}

⇒               =0.32 \ mL

Can you come up with a mathematical relationship, based on your data that shows the relationship between distance from the charg
zalisa [80]

Answer:

Explanation:

This question appears incomplete because of the absence of the data been talked about in the question. However, there is a general ruling here and it can be applied to the data at hand.

If an increase in the distance of charges (let's denote with "d") causes the electric field strength (let's denote with"E") to increase, then the mathematical representation can be illustrated as d ∝ E (meaning distance of charge is directly proportional to electric field strength).

But if an increase in the distance of the charges causes the electric field strength to decrease, then the mathematical representation can be illustrated as d ∝ 1/E (meaning distance of charge is inversely proportional to electric field strength).

A scatterplot can also be used to determine this. If there is a positive correlation (correlation value is greater than zero but less than or equal to 1) on the graph, then it is illustrated as "d ∝ E" BUT if there is a negative correlation (correlation value is less than zero but greater than or equal to -1), then it can be illustrated as "d ∝ 1/E".
