She gave 1/3 of cookies for her husband

Therefore,

$Husband = \frac{1}{3}x$

Find the remaining

$Remaining = x - \frac{x}{3} = \frac{3x-x}{3} = \frac{2x}{3}$

1/4 of the cookies to her son

Therefore,

$son = \frac{1}{4} \times \frac{2x}{3} = \frac{x}{6}$

Now again find the remaining

$Remaining = \frac{2x}{3} - \frac{x}{6} = \frac{x}{2}$

1/6 of a cookies to her neighbor

$Neighbor = \frac{1}{6} \times \frac{x}{2} = \frac{x}{12}$

Now again find the remaining

$Remaining = \frac{x}{2} - \frac{x}{12} = \frac{5x}{12}$

She ate the remaining six cookies

Therefore,

$\frac{5x}{12} = 6\\\\5x = 72\\\\x = 14.4$
