<span>Awareness can begin for many different forms but empathy cannot exist first without it. In this case of the students, they came across an article that before it existed to them its message was unknown in their world. After reading the passage the value of voting clearly came from a level of empathy based on the obstacles the writer had over come. These students clearly had an open mind to begin.
