The three examples of inhumane farming methods are,
1. feeding highly nutritious food (artificially synthesized) to animals and birds.
2. keeping milch animals almost permanently pregnant.
3. application of hormones to animals and birds.
Further Explanation :
The activities by which crops and livestock are raised are known as animal husbandry. They are maintained and reared in order to gain profit out of them.
Seeds are planted to raise edible plants and parts while livestock or animals are raised for milk and meat. Basically, maintaining farm which includes either plants (crops) or animals (livestock) is called farming.
‘Inhumane” as the name suggests, is any unethical or inhuman activity. Inhumane farming accordingly is the type of farming in which the crops are treated unethically and inhumanly.
When the animals are not treated according to the codes and ethics of farming, the type of farming is known as inhumane farming. The animals and/or crops are treated as lifeless creatures which are profit yielding only and are not considered as creatures of sentiment.
Highly nutritious food which are artificially synthesized (synthesized in laboratories) are harmful due to presence of higher quantities of chemicals as compared to the natural food. When the animals feed on these highly nutritious food, they grow in size and body mass but the mass increase compromises with other health aspects.
Dairy cows cannot produce milk throughout the year. To achieve this goal, cows are artificially inseminated within 3 months of giving birth and this is how dairy animals are inhumanly treated. To increase/boost production, some cows are injected with growth hormone . Hormones are also injected to egg laying birds to increase yield. These are few examples of farming methods which prove to be unethical and highly inhuman.
