Hi!

The correct answer is : <u>either stretch or compress the spring</u>

<h3>Explanation</h3>

The spring constant, denoted commonly as k, is a component of Hooke's law which describes the force that is required to compress or stretch an object to be directly proportional to the length of extension or compression.

F ∝ x

where F is the force applied to the spring, and x is the length of extension or compression.

The equation of Hooke's law is consequently

F = kx

where k is a non zero constant, known as the spring constant.

I'm solving for the angle on a right triangle the hypotenuse is 36 and the base is 24 I don't understand how or when to use cos
Alika [10]

Given

hypotenuse is 36

base is 24

Procedure

Cos function (or cosine function) in a triangle is the ratio of the adjacent side to that of the hypotenuse. The cosine function is one of the three main primary trigonometric functions and it is itself the complement of sine(co+sine).

\begin{gathered} \cos \theta=\frac{24}{36} \\ \theta=\cos ^{-1}(\frac{24}{36}) \\ \theta=48.1 \end{gathered}

The answer would be 48 degrees

If you are 5.00ft and 10.0in tall, what is your height in meters
Stolb23 [73]

The answer that I got was 5'8333..., which is the total for height and in inches, all of this would be 70 inches, or 1.78 meters, or 178 centimeters, or 1780 millimeters, but just go for the height that person is going to be at, 5'833... (this is repeated so just round it up to 5'8 if you want to.)

Hope this helped!

What is impossible for a machine to do?
Art [367]

Answer:

A) do a greater amount of work than the amount of work done on the machine

Explanation:

By the principle of conservation of energy, energy can never be created or destroyed.

To do more work by a machine than the amount of work done on the machine is impossible because to do so machine will have to create energy within itself which violates the principle of conservation of energy.

Extra bit,

These kind of machine are defined as perpetual-motion machines and there are many attempts in history to create one such device but all were failed.
