Batteries are connected group of electrochemical cells that stores electrical charges and generate electric current due to conversion of chemical energy into electrical energy.
These electrochemical cells are arranged in a same orientation so as to keep the polarities of the cells in same direction which will provide ease in movement of electrical charges. Preferably these electrochemical cells are identical.
