Answer:

A research group is on a college campus and is conducting a survey regarding the coffee consumption of college students in America.The techniques that would probably produce a sample that is most representative of  population is Survey a randomly selected group of students from all- campus event.

<u>Explanation:</u>

While surveying the coffee consumption of college students the group will select the random samples. The Random sample is one which is selected without any kind of partiality. Every student in a survey will get an equal opportunity for selection.

The sample selected by this technique is more reliable as it actually represents the population from which it is taken. This technique can be used only when the size of the population is not very large.

\bf \textit{Law of Cosines}\\ \quad \\&#10;c^2 = {{ a}}^2+{{ b}}^2-(2{{ a}}{{ b}})cos(C)\implies &#10;c = \sqrt{{{ a}}^2+{{ b}}^2-(2{{ a}}{{ b}})cos(C)}\\\\&#10;-----------------------------\\\\&#10;\textit{so, let's find the missing side}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;c=\sqrt{2.7^2+3.4^2-2(2.7)(3.4)cos(40^o)}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;c=\sqrt{4.78542402433556327368}\implies c\approx 2.187561204706182220

or we can round it, to say c = 2.19, so  hmm that's the missing side
now, we use Heron's Formula, which uses all 3 sides only

\bf \textit{Heron's Area Formula}\\\\&#10;A=\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}\qquad &#10;\begin{cases}&#10;a=2.7\\&#10;b=3.4\\&#10;c\approx 2.19\\\\&#10;s=\cfrac{a+b+c}{2}&#10;\end{cases}

and that'd be the area of it

Nadia plans to paint her jewelry box. The box is shaped like a rectangular prism with the dimensions
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

132\ in^{2} is closest to the total surface area of the box

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The surface area of the box is equal to

SA=2B+PH

where

B is the area of the base

P is the perimeter of the base

H is the height of the box

we have

L=7\frac{3}{4}\ in=\frac{7*4+3}{4}=\frac{31}{4}\ in

W=3\frac{1}{4}\ in=\frac{3*4+1}{4}=\frac{13}{4}\ in

H=3\frac{7}{8}\ in=\frac{3*8+7}{8}=\frac{31}{8}\ in

<em>Find the area of the base B</em>

B=LW

B=(\frac{31}{4})(\frac{13}{4})=\frac{403}{16}\ in^{2}

<em>Find the perimeter of the base P</em>

P=2(L+W)

P=2(\frac{31}{4}+\frac{13}{4}))

P=2(\frac{44}{4})=22\ in

<em>Find the surface area</em>

SA=2(\frac{403}{16})+22(\frac{31}{8})

SA=(\frac{403}{8})+(\frac{682}{8})

SA=\frac{1,085}{8}=135.625\ in^{2}
