They moved to Persia and Central Asia, converting the rulers of the major oasis cities of the Silk Road, such as Merv and Sistan.  They also invaded what is now Pakistan, beginning the process of conversion in this area that would continue for centuries.

Between 685 and 705, the Umayyads reached their height of power and prestige for that reason the population had certain privileges, among the privileges women were free to open their own business and manage their own finances.
