Assuming that the given numbers for the perimeter and area of the rectangles are 9 cm and 12 cm.
Then the perimeter being l + w becomes 3 + 3 = 9 cm for the first; 6 + 6 = 12 cm for the second.

Areas would be (3)^2 and (3.5)^2

How can knowing the gcf and lcm help you when you add subtract and multiply fractions?
Maksim231197 [3]
In order to add and subtract fractions, we must be able to find a common denominator.
The LCD, or least common denominator, is the LCM of the denominators. Once we've added, subtracted or multiplied fractions, we often have to simplify the fraction.
In order to do this, we divide the numerator and denominator by their GCF. This means we must be able to find the LCM and GCF in order to work with fractions.

jake makes 9 loaves of olive bread. he uses 30 grams of olives in each loaf.he started with 1 kilogram of olives.how many grams
8090 [49]
Considering that 1 kilogram is equal to 1000 grams and he made 9 loaves of bread using 30 grams each time, that equates to 270 grams of olives. 1000 - 270 = 730. Your answer is 730 grams of olives remain. Hope this helped.

Estimate the answer to 26.6 x 24.4/ 5.67 x 4.02.
NeTakaya
For this question, we must use BIDMAS

Brackets
Indices
Division
Multiplication
Addition
Subtraction

26.6 x 24.4 / 5.67 x 4.02

First, round all the values to their first significant figure

30 x 20 / 6 x 4

The first occurring operation in BIDMAS is Division
20/6 = 3 1/3

Now do the multiplication

30 x 3 1/3 x 4 = 400

Or you can round to the nearest whole number (although it can be more difficult if doing sums in your head)

27 x 24 / 6 x 4
27 x 4 x 4
27 x 16 = 432

The more accurately you round, the closer the estimation is to the actual answer (≈460)

1 Sig Fig = 400
Whole number = 432
