The sum of geometric series is given by:
Sn=a(1-r^n)/(1-r)
a= first term=$22,600
r=rate=1-0.14=
n=number of terms= 5 years
thus the total amount sold will be:
Sn=22600(1-0.14^5)/(1-0.14)
Sn=$26,277.66
The total amount sold was $26,277.66

4  teachers    0 other member       total possibilities    1

3  teachers     1     teachers  C₄,₃  = 4   and  other member  6    6*4   =  24

2 teachers     2      C₄,₂  =  4!/2!  = 12    2 (om)    and  C₆,₂   =  6!/4!  = 30

30*12  = 360

1  teacher        3     (om)               4         and  C₆,₃ = 6!/3!   =  120

120*4  = 480

Total ways of committee    1  + 24  + 360 +  480  = 865

You deposit $3000 in an account earning 4% interest compounded continuously. How much will you have in
V125BC [204]

Answer: $3,664.21

Formula: A=Pe^{rt}

  • P = principle/original amount = $3000
  • r = rate of interest = 4% = 0.04
  • t = time period (in years) = 5
  • A = the new amount
  • e = Euler's number ≈ 2.718...

Substitute in the values:

A=(3000)e^{(0.04)(5)} =(3000)e^{0.2} =(3000)(1.2214)=3664.208

<u>Approximately $3,664.21</u>
